VDI is a virtual temporary desktop that resides on the Trinity University network. Trinity offers a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (or VDI) service to everyone with TU Network credentials and Duo MFA. By logging into VDI, you can access a standard Trinity desktop from anywhere.
VDI gives you access to only available resources on campus (i.e., Colleague, network drives, etc.) and other general productivity software (Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc.).
Students, Faculty, and Staff.
VDI is a web-based service and desktop application that any device can access by logging into your TU Network credentials and Duo MFA.
If you perform smaller and basic computing tasks, you can use this method that does not require a download. If you want better performance and functionality, use the VMWare Horizon Client Software. Please notice that if you save any data on the desktop, it will be lost when logging off. If you need to save your work while using VDI, please save it in Google Drive in your network storage drive folder via an email to yourself.
Step 1: In the web browser of your choice, go to vdi.trinity.edu.
Step 2: Select VMWare Horizon HTML.
Step 3: Log in using your TU Network credentials.
Step 4: In the “Next Code”
- Enter your passcode from the Duo Mobile app or Token
or
- Type in "push," and press Enter to send a push to your Duo Mobile app.
Download and install the VMWare Horizon Client Software for macOS.

VPN is a service that allows your Trinity University-owned device to connect directly to the on-campus network). The VPN usage requires prior authorization from your respective VP or designate. The request for VPN access must be sent to ITS.
Trinity Faculty and Staff.
VPN is a web-based service that requires authorization before use and can be accessed at any time on any Trinity University-owned device.
VPN is restricted to Trinity University-owned devices and requires authorization before use. Please read the TUNetwork Use Policy before proceeding.
- Download and install the VPN AnyConnect Client for Windows (found on the right column of this page).

- Once you have successfully connected to the Trinity University network, download VPN-NetworkDrives.bat (found on the right column of this page) to map out your network drives (e.g. V:, U:)
OR
- Download and install the VPN AnyConnect Client for macOS (found on the right column of this page).

- Mapping to network drives is not available on the macOS side.
Step 1: Open your Cisco Anyconnect vpn client and connect to vpn.trinity.edu
Step 2: From the “Group’ drop-down menu select “TrinityVPN-DUO” then enter your network credentials and click”OK”
Step 3: On your mobile device you should get a notification like the one below:
Step 4: Tap on it and it will take you to the Duo app asking for approval. Approve and the login will be complete. Please keep in mind that there is a very short time limit on responding to the request (~12 seconds), this is to ensure that you are close to your mobile device and are who you claim you are 😊
